- Sat, Aug 9, 2008 | MCT PRESENTS RED RIDING HOOD
| | | | VENUE: MBT Studio Theatre |
Missoula Children’s Theatre presents an original adaptation of the classic children's story. Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house she goes. Red Riding Hood, not so little anymore, and her pre-teen pals try to stay on the straight and narrow in the latest adventure from the Missoula Children's Theatre. The Big Bad Wolf, who is not so bad after all, and a friendly neighborhood Forest Ranger urge our heroes to stay true to the path, for in the shadows lurk diversions and a sinister surprise or two. A pack of woefully nasty young wolves and a handsome Woodsman, too good to be true, are a must for our story. And we can’t have a wolf tale without Three Little Pigs and even a Boy Who Cries… you guessed it. With help from her family and a loyal young Locksmith (he carries the key), Red finds her Grandma and a whole lot more. Now if only she could retrieve her picnic basket from those rascally Raccoons. Life is no picnic when you stray from the trail! Presented by the Missoula Children's Theatre Campers.

Tickets $10 plus applicable fees. Discounts for youth & seniors available - call (360) 734-6080.

- Sat, Aug 16, 2008 | MCT PRESENTS ALICE IN WONDERLAND
| | | | VENUE: MBT Studio Theatre |
The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents an original adaptation based on Lewis Carroll’s classic novels. The story begins with Alice and her older sister Margaret reading together. Margaret becomes frustrated, as Alice is curious about absolutely everything. Suddenly, a White Rabbit appears from nowhere. After a quick and nonsensical conversation, Alice follows the rabbit to a strange and wonderful place. In the course of her adventures, Alice meets a band of Flowers, the King and Queen of Hearts, the Knave and the rest of the suit of Cards, a giant Caterpillar, a Fish, a Frog, the Duchess, the Cook, the Cheshire Cat, the Gryphon, the Mock Turtle, a group of singing Lobsters, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, the Dormouse and Humpty Dumpty. Through it all, Alice grows “curiouser and curiouser” as to where she is and even who she is. In the end, the answers she seeks are unimportant. Wonderland is all nonsense, anyway. As the White Rabbit explains, “Nonsense is fun!” Presented by the Missoula Children's Theatre Campers.
