MBT has been bringing the magic of live theatre to the children of our community through the Wade Bennett King Education Series since 1996! Each year, thousands of kids take their seat in our historic theatre and experience shows that inspire, educate and entertain the next generation of great minds.
This is made possible thanks to the annual gifts from the Frank King family, local businesses, and MBT Members. Their donations have kept admission costs low, allowing the students who visit Mount Baker Theatre to explore different subjects, cultures, and points of view in a safe, immersive, and memorable environment.
Unfortunately, many schools are still unable to afford admission and travel costs. The logistics of transportation alone can be prohibitive for students coming from rural Whatcom County, as well as Skagit, Island, San Juan, and Snohomish counties.
To address this discrepancy, our Education Department is on the precipice of a major expansion. We aim to make theatre more accessible by adding performances, programs, and opportunities to connect theatre artists with the youth we serve. Donations to the Arts Education Support Fund will continue allowing students to attend live shows at the Mount Baker Theatre via scholarships, as well as supporting new arts education programming that expands our reach.
Your contribution, no matter what size, makes a significant difference in bringing the performing arts to students, both inside and outside of our theatre walls.
