MOUNT BAKER THEATRE CHEERS ON BELOVED RESIDENT MAGICIAN JOHN WALTON COMPETING ON PRIME TIME FOR PENN & TELLER

Bellingham, WA— Mount Baker Theatre announces MBT resident magician John Walton will be competing on the national TV show Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Monday, September 30, 2019 at 8pm PST on The CW. Mr. Walton, a Bellingham native, was chosen from magicians all over the world to appear on the episode that will feature four magicians each trying to fool Penn & Teller with their best trick.

Although Mr. Walton entertains crowds with many amazing tricks at his annual MBT holiday-time performances, he says this is a special act just for the competition. “The particular trick I’ll be performing for Penn & Teller is one that I’ve been working on for more than 25 years. It has been under development for that long in order to get it just right,” says Walton.

Penn & Teller: Fool Us, is in its sixth season, and only about 1 in 5 contestants manage to stump the two celebrity magician judges. The acts that do are awarded a guest spot on Penn & Teller’s magic show in Las Vegas. MBT invites our community to join our Facebook event and watch from home, giving encouraging comments for John to do his best and fool the pros.

John Walton is an ardent supporter of Mount Baker Theatre. He donates his own talent, props, and fascinating historic art for his Mostly Magic holiday magic shows, helps with other events, and also financially supports the theatre. The Walton theatre, a black box theatre facility located within Mount Baker Theatre, is named in honor of John’s parents Harold and Irene Walton.
