Brad Burdick to Retire as Executive Director of Mount Baker Theatre

Following a fruitful career at the historic theatre, Burdick looks forward to the future

After serving as the Executive Director of the Mount Baker Theatre for 23 years, Brad Burdick will retire on January 15, 2020.  The Theatre will host an open-house style retirement celebration for Burdick on January 15 from 3:30-6:00 PM at Mount Baker Theatre. This event is open to the public.

Mount Baker Theatre Announces Major Capital Campaign and Projects to “Continue the Legacy” of MBT’s Mission

Mount Baker Theatre announces a major capital campaign and resulting series of projects scheduled to begin in 2020 to save history and fund the future.  Named “Continuing the Legacy,” this campaign acknowledges the community that saved MBT’s historic theatre building from demolition in 1983, and encourages renewed stewardship by our community today to ensure this cultural asset stays vibrant long into the future.

Mount Baker Theatre Cheers on Beloved Resident Magician John Walton Competing on Prime Time for Penn & Teller

Bellingham, WA— Mount Baker Theatre announces MBT resident magician John Walton will be competing on the national TV show Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Monday, September 30, 2019 at 8pm PST on The CW.  Mr. Walton, a Bellingham native, was chosen from magicians all over the world to appear on the episode that will feature four magicians each trying to fool Penn & Teller with their best trick.

In Memory of Bill Charles

Bill was quite a man and quite a volunteer. I'll always admire his dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to quietly solve problems and fix things. He was so passionate about the Mount Baker Theatre's Organ. He spent countless hours working away on stage and up in the organ bays making sure the organ would work whenever we needed it. He regularly came down to the theatre to make sure the organ was good to go when we had tours or performances. He was always in a great mood and eager to share the organ with anyone who was interested.
